Basic overview of our shot ideas.

Shots

First scene: Agnew is getting ready for the meal, short quick cuts, close ups, detailed sound, occasionally cutting to Monty, getting ready and making his way, slower longer shots, no face shots.
Second scene: Knock on the door, Agnew making final preparations, heads to door and opens it. The two characters meet, Monty pauses, looks Agnew and up and down and enters the flat, Agnew’s point of view shot, quick cut of Monty’s point of view, to show Agnew’s expression (uncertainty), Monty sees the meal, expresses his disappointed at the meal, but it’ll do. Agnew is wary and inquisitive at this point, rather than scared, but Monty’s behaviour builds the tension and unsettles Agnew.
Third scene: Monty completely takes control of the situation, large shots of Monty and small shots of Agnew. He opens the wine, telling a story that unsettles Agnew further, Monty is unblinking, Agnew tries to avoid eye contact.
Fourth scene: Monty stands up, goes to leave, turns walks towards Agnew, fear in Agnew’s face grows, picks something up from the table, comments on now he hopes the meal will be better next time then leaves. Agnew’s POV follows Monty as he leaves, lean back sigh of relief.
